BENGALURU, 20 FEB

Police have booked a sub-inspector in Ramamurthy Nagar for allegedly assaulting his mother following a dispute over his extramarital affair.

The case was booked based on a complaint filed by the officer’s mother Mangalamma, a resident of Doddaballapur,  with the KR Puram police.

Mangalamma said her son, married since 2011 with two children, is involved in an extramarital relationship despite repeated objections from the family.
On 16 February, Mangalamma, along with her two daughters, visited the woman’s residence to persuade her to end the relationship. However, an argument ensued when the officer arrived, and he allegedly assaulted his mother.

Mangalamma said another person present at the house, believed to be the woman's brother, also assaulted her. No arrest has been made so far.
